Free Clean Friday

Free Clean Friday: a little shine, on the house.

Some of the best things in a neighbourhood happen behind a shop window. Free Clean Friday is our way of giving a little care back to the places people know and love.

The short version

Free Clean Friday brings occasional free cleaning visits to local businesses. Watch the first three episodes or nominate a neighbourhood spot for the crew to consider.

What is Free Clean Friday?

Every so often, the Beam’s crew visits a local business for a free clean and films the work. It gives us a chance to do something useful for a neighbour and share a little of what happens behind the squeegee.

The visits happen occasionally. The project is a chance to introduce viewers to a local spot as well as show the work. You can follow the series without making a booking or sending a nomination.

Know a business that deserves a turn?

We’d love to hear about it. Maybe it’s a familiar storefront, a place that looks after its neighbours, or a small business you’re glad to have down the road. Tell us what makes it worth a visit.

  • The business name and Okanagan location.
  • Why you would like to nominate it.
  • A public website or social profile, if there is one.

Episode 1: a stop at Porta Peach.

Our first episode takes us to Porta Peach in Peachland. Watch the visit below, then follow the crew into Episodes 2 and 3.

Meet the local spots, see the crew at work, and follow along as we give a little shine back to the neighbourhood.

A useful nomination is a personal one.

A business name on its own gives us a starting point. A few lines about the people or place help explain your choice. Perhaps it is the shop that knows its regulars, or a small local business you would like more neighbours to discover.

Keep it straightforward: name the business, say which town it is in, and tell us why you thought of it. A link to its public page helps distinguish it from another business with a similar name.

Need cleaning for your own storefront?

The community series and a regular commercial booking are different ways to get in touch. If you manage a shop, office or strata property and need work arranged, start with a site walk and a written scope.

Keep an eye on the neighbourhood.

Common questions

Is Free Clean Friday open to homeowners?

The series currently features local businesses. For cleaning at your home, use our regular quote request. A nomination is for the community project, not a residential booking.

Will every nominated business receive a free clean?

A nomination puts a business forward for consideration. It does not confirm a visit or a date; the project runs occasionally.

Do I have to own the business to nominate it?

You can suggest a business you appreciate. Share its public business details and why you chose it; you do not need to provide someone else’s private contact information.
